Irish 1000 Guineas: Judge features among acceptors

Just The Judge, narrowly denied by Sky Lantern in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, is among 18 remaining entries in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh on Sunday...

Trained by Charlie Hills, the filly lost her unbeaten record at Newmarket and connections are keen to stick to a mile for now.

Big Break missed Newmarket on account of the fast ground, with trainer Dermot Weld hoping there is rain in the build-up to the Irish Classic.

Aidan O'Brien's Moth, who caught the eye when running on into third at Newmarket and has been strongly fancied for the Oaks at Epsom, is still in the shake-up for the Guineas.

O'Brien's Snow Queen also stayed on pleasingly into fifth and may also run along with stablemates Just Pretending and Hanky Panky.

Richard Hannon's Maureen was just behind Snow Queen in sixth, while the Eddie Lynam-trained Viztoria is also in the frame but has never competed over a mile.

Newmarket Guineas eighth Masarah remains in the hunt for the Clive Brittain team, with the Elaine Burke-trained Exactement still entered.

John Oxx has left in What Style and Harasiya, with Andy Oliver having supplemented Dubaya, who could join stablemate Uleavemebreathless.

Jim Bolger also has a couple in contention in Rehn's Nest and Bunairgead.

Mizzava and Harpist complete the list ahead of Friday's declaration stage.

US Triple Crown: O'Brien pair among the entries

A healthy 397 entries have been made for the US Triple Crown, with a smattering of British and Irish-trained horses in the mix, including two from Ballydoyle...

US Champion two year-old colt Hansen (Timeform rated 121), winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, and Union Rags (123p), a Grade 1 winner himself and arguably an unlucky runner-up to Hansen at Churchill Downs, are both currently to the fore in the market for the Kentucky Derby, the latter trading as favourite at [9.0] whilst Hansen is at [17.0].

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Wrote, winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, is rated 118p and is currently trading at [19.0] for the Kentucky Derby. The three-year old, by dual Breeders' Cup Turf winner High Chapparal, was progressive through last season, and the way he powered to the front in the Juvenile Turf left the impression that he is likely to improve further.

The Ballydoyle handler has also entered Daddy Long Legs (116), winner of the Royal Lodge at Newmarket last season (Wrote finished third) and last seen when apparently not taking to the surface in the Juvenile Dirt in November.

Godolphin have made four entries, headed by Zip Top (111), who has transferred to the Mahmood al Zarooni yard after finishing runner-up in Doncaster's RP Trophy.

Prince Alzain (98p), trained by Gerard Butler, also features among the entries, as does the Jeremy Noseda-trained Harvard N Yale (97), who finished second to the aforementioned colt when last seen at Wolverhampton.

Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Long Run could face up to 10 rivals as he bids to get off the mark for the season in the Betfair Denman Chase at Newbury......

Paul Nicholls concedes Zarkandar has not been trained with Saturday's Betfair Hurdle as his highest priority - although he could still easily turn out to be good enough to win the prestigious Newbury handicap......

Two of Friday's movers runs at Newmarket

Today's Follow The Money movers come from the cards at Newmarket and Brighton...

We start at Newmarket and in their opening race the 14:20 Elusive Flame has seen his price drop from [15.5] into [6.0]. This race is difficult to get much of an angle on with only three of the runners having raced previously and when this is the case it often pays to follow the market. David Elsworth has raced just one other two-year-old this season and that ran out an impressive winner last week, Kieren Fallon is also an eye catching jockey booking today.

We move to Brighton for the 15:05 1m2f Selling Stks where Integria has drifted in the market from [1.78] out to [2.08]. This bay gelding has won twice in May already and finished a good second under a double penalty at Yarmouth. He is now rated 13lbs and 7lbs higher than those two wins respectively and his new mark may prove tougher to win from. His former stable-mate Song To The Moon has also been in solid form of late and with Matthew Davies taking a useful 3lbs off she could be the one to provide the biggest challenge to the selection.

Our final mover of the day is back at Newmarket for their 5th race the 16:40. Danadana has been well supported from an early [6.8] into [2.94]. This three-year-old Dubawi colt is sent handicapping today for the first time after successfully losing his maiden tag last time out at Newcastle. The breeding suggests middle distances will be his forte and there is room for improvement on his previous efforts. Bottom weight in today's race will help his cause and his trainer Luca Cumani also has a decent 15% strike rate with his three-year-olds at this course.
