"Aegean King returns from a long absence on a very appealing mark and the early signs from that betting are that he'll be ready to go"

Wolverhampton strikes as being a better placepot target than Carlisle on a fairly quiet Monday afternoon...

14:15 - The opening leg is bound to be strongly-run and only a couple of the hold-up horses are in the form to take advantage, so the inclusion of Harare and Magnitude isn't a difficult decision

14.45 - The second leg has an open look to it with the presence of plenty of in-form sorts, but the most interesting pair in my opinion is Pie Poudre (back in headgear) and Princess Gail, who returns from a short break with her yard in much better form than when last seen.

15.20 - Red Somerset is in good enough form to capitalise on a simple opportunity in the seller but, given there are only a couple of places up for grabs, it's worth including Faithful Ruler as a bit of insurance.

15.55 - There are a couple of interesting newcomers in the maiden, but I'd prefer to stick with experience for placepot purposes and Croftamie has already shown a level of form good enough to win this sort of event so she's worth banking on her return from over three months off.

16.25 - Aegean King returns from a long absence on a very appealing mark and the early signs from that betting are that he'll be ready to go. Warden Bond might struggle to land the hat-trick but is sure to give his running all the same, so he's also worth having on side.

17:00 - Al Freej is justifiably a short price bearing in mind the strength of her maiden form and appeals as the obvious first choice in the final leg. The others are fairly difficult to split but it could be worth chancing the speedy Darnathean trying the minimum trip for just the second time.
