Friendlies: Man United and Milan meet La Liga's finest

"Manchester United are outsiders for their penultimate and trickiest pre-season fixture, however they are unbeaten in their four to date."

Four of Europe's best are in pre-season action against one another tonight, with one match live on Betfair...

Even in this modern era of cash-generating foreign tours, glamorous intercontinental clashes and all-star teams, few friendlies truly captivate, but two taking place in Gothenburg and New York City on Wednesday are undeniably worthy of attention...

Barcelona v Manchester United, 19:00, MUTV, Match odds: Barcelona 1.9110/11, Manchester United 4.3100/30, The Draw 3.9n/a

Manchester United are outsiders for their penultimate and trickiest pre-season fixture, however they are unbeaten in their four to date - conceding only once in the process - and conquered Barcelona in a neutral venue when they met in USA last summer.

The Catalan club were frustrated on Saturday in their most high-profile friendly yet, surrendering a two-goal lead away to Paris St-Germain, with nemesis Zlatan Ibrahimovic contributing to the comeback, and they are yet to welcome aboard sole signing Jordi Alba.

With the now Tito Vilanova-led tiki-taka masters yet to enter their stride and Manchester United's defence proving difficult to breach with the Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand partnership re-established, don't be surprised if the favourites are frustrated.

Recommended Bet: Lay Barcelona to win @ 1.9210/11

Real Madrid v AC Milan, 01:00, Betfair Live Video, Match odds: Real Madrid 1.768/11, AC Milan 4.77/2, The Draw 4.1n/a

Kaka's former and potentially future employers meet his current team in the Yankee Stadium in the early hours, as the two most successful sides in Champions League history continue preparations for their latest campaign.

Real Madrid's squad is packed with greater quality and glamour names but AC Milan have performed in pre-season as if insulted by the suggestion that they are finished as a threat without Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Since failing to impress domestically against Juventus and Inter in the Trofeo TIM, they have responded with victories over the likes of Schalke and Chelsea. Real Madrid have won three and lost one of their four friendlies, each containing three goals or more.

Recommended Bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.674/6
