Lee Cattermole and Titus Bramble: Owners of banker Anychancedave
"Saga de Tercey and Anychancedave are patently the two to concentrate on but with the latter 19 lb clear of the former on Timeform ratings..."
Despite the presence of a four-runner chase for horses who have never won over fences, Sedgefield's card still appeals for today's Placepot according to Timeform's Adam Brookes...
14:20 - Saga de Tercey and Anychancedave are patently the two to concentrate on but with the latter 19 lb clear of the former on Timeform ratings owing to a very promising hurdling debut at Carlisle (soft) in November, he goes in as a banker in the hope that his short break since is down to connections wanting to avoid winter ground (won bumper on good).
12:50 - The 'placepotter's' nemesis, the aforementioned four-runner affair, but the race looks a match between former Coral Cup-winning veteran Naiad du Misselot and Flat/bumper/hurdle winner Priceless Art, who will need to brush up his jumping but has more than enough ability.
15:20 - Last Rebellion is certainly feared after scooting up at Ayr on his handicap debut but the fact that he was fitted with blinkers for the first time that day, started at long odds and won't get his own way in front with Easement in opposition, means he can be taken on. The consistent Frontier Boy is from an in-form yard and is the best alternative, with course specialist Matmata de Tendron selected as insurance.
15:50 - None of the chasing newcomers make any appeal so it looks safer to stick with those already proven somewhat, including Jan Jandura, who may be an iffy jumper but he's likely to give his running and has been in the frame on his last six completed starts. Stamina-laden teenager Toulouse Express has won three times over course and distance so also makes the perm.
16:20 - The fifth leg is a trappy event but with eight runners it makes sense to try and find a second banker. Royal Mile (temperament), Arrow Barrow (current form), Braddock Island (jumping) and The Thirsty Bricky (same) all have questions to answer which leaves Tipsy Indian, Strathaird, Lerida and Authentic Act. With James Reveley riding full of confidence at the minute (see Corkage yesterday) and the horse's affinity with the course, the latter makes most appeal despite returning from a break.
16:50 - Foolishly or not, saving lines in the previous leg has afforded us the opportunity to double-up in the last. Granwood won on her handicap hurdle debut over course and distance in December and, while well below form next time, she may have found that coming too soon and is given another chance being Timeform top-rated. Similarly, Realignment ran a career-best when runner-up in a similar race over course and distance just before Christmas and should do better with Jason Maguire back on board.
