The Race of the Day comes from Market Rasen

"Question marks over a few of these and a chance is taken on Dorabelle, who shaped well prior to coming down 4 out at Doncaster last time."

Timeform take a look at the runners in this 2m 3f handicap hurdle at Market Rasen...

Attaglance won returning from a break at Carlisle in October and ran well to be third at Haydock (2½m) next time. Softer ground not ideal last 2 starts and no surprise to see better showing here.

Conquisto showed he can mix it in competitive handicaps when fifth in 2010 Swinton but very lightly raced since. Signs he retains his ability at Aintree back in April but another absence to overcome here.

Elsaafer was progressive in first half of season, a listed win at Kempton in October his third in 5 starts. Helped force strong pace when below best at Ascot later that month and freshened up by a break since.

Sir Tantallus Hawk is a fairly useful handicap hurdler/chaser, running well to be twice placed over hurdles in December. Below form on heavy ground on latest outing over timber, but won jumpers' bumper last week.

Dorabelle was better than ever when landing handicap at Hexham in June and in the process of running creditably on return from 6-month absence in mares Grade 2 at Doncaster last time prior to falling 4 out.

Not Til Monday is a dual-purpose performer who managed to win 4 times over hurdles in 2011, the latest coming at Fakenham in December. However, 7 lb higher as a result and not at his best back on the Flat of late.

El Dancer is a useful hurdler/chaser at best but off 17 months and not close to that level since return. Never threatened back over hurdles on last 2 starts and others preferred.

Kandari was a Fairyhouse maiden winner and County Hurdle fifth back in 2009 for Noel Meade. Very lightly raced since and market will guide making debut for new yard off the back of a 21-month absence.

Fridaythorpe was a bumper winner 2 years ago and although raced only 4 times since, showed ability is still there when third in Wetherby novice hurdle last month. Could have more to come, though opening mark no gimme.

River Dragon won handicap over C&D in December and run with credit both starts over hurdles since. Respectable sixth in jumpers' bumper at Southwell last week and another bold bid looks on the cards.

Timeform 1-2-3
1. Dorabelle
2. Tantallus Hawk
3. River Dragon

Timeform Verdict Question marks over a few of these and a chance is taken on Dorabelle, who shaped well prior to coming down 4 out at Doncaster last time. Sir Tantallus Hawk and River Dragon are others to consider.
