Norwegian Roger Johannessen became the latest winner of the Betfair Poker Live! London event when beating 157 opponents to win the popular tournament on Sunday February 19 taking home over £15,000 and a promise to return for Betfair's next live event in Prague in May.
The Betfair regular made short work of the final table before getting the better of Englishman Leigh Ralph heads-up. The final hand saw Roger with 68 off suit up against AQ but a pair of 6's on the flop and no further help on the turn and river saw Roger Johannessen land the top prize and a package to Prague.
"I was really thirsty!" quipped Jonhannessen when asked about the brevity of the final table before bigging up Betfair on the success of the event.
"I loved it. It was well organised as usual from Betfair and I had a lot of friends over here from my home town Bergen.
"I'll be following you guys around for the rest of the Betfair Live series."
Among the regulars from the Fox Poker Club were the usual contingent of Scandinavians, and our Betfair Pros, Hans Vogel and John Tabatabai.
The weekend kicked off in lively style with our Betfair Poker Bust Out Lottery. The final two players in the three-hour timed freeroll tournament won two free packages to our next event in Prague. Also on offer were prizes including two iPad 2s, a Kindle and an Xbox 360.
Also present on the second day of the tournament at the Fox Poker club were two writers from the Betfair Poker Twitter account. Perhaps not used to the experience of live poker, one joked after failing to last too long in the $10K GTD turbo side event
"My knowledge of poker is based on playing online, so I assumed everyone dressed as a cowboy/old lady/pimp/milf.
"It turns out that these are merely characters, or "avatars" and real life players wear normal clothes. I dressed as the old lady."

After two days in Costa Brava Juan Bel was crowned the Betfair Poker Live Main Event winner. Bel battled through a field of 127 players to walk away with the title and just over €16,000 Euros....

Betfair recently announced the schedule for the eagerly anticipated Betfair Poker LIVE! Tour and along with the great destinations it was also revealed that the Man Event's on this season's tour are going to be played as a bounty tournament....
