Will Michael's runner triumph at Haydock?

Will Michael's runner triumph at Haydock?

"Activate has a good record at this track and stays the trip well so everything looks in place for a big run."

Michael Bell provides the lowdown on his four Saturday afternoon runners...

Ascot

15:15 7f Handicap
Gramercy: He has good form at the track and ran well in the Wokingham on his reappearance. He suffered a little setback with a splint after that race but he has been working well recently and I am hopeful he will give a very good account. The longer trip should be no problem and this has been the plan since he has been back in work.

15.45 1m4f Handicap
Communicator: He has form at the track and I am putting his latest disappointing effort down to not getting the trip over 1m6f at York. I have a slight concern that the ground will be a tad too quick for him but he is in very good form at home and isn't badly handicapped if he gets it all together.

Haydock

14:30 1m6f Handicap
Activate: He had a very unfortunate experience when he was brought down at Goodwood last time but hopefully that hasn't left its mark - he has been fine at home since. He has a good record at this track and stays the trip well so everything looks in place for a big run. It's a very competitive race but I am very happy with him coming into it.

Kempton

16:25 6f Group 3
Gabrial The King: He bolted up in his maiden at Ffos Las and has always shown loads of speed at home. This is obviously a step up in class and looks quite competitive for the grade, but I have always thought he was useful and he deserves to take his place in a race like this.
