"Straboe deserves a lot of respect in the first, but the market has taken that into account and We'll Deal Again is a lot better off at the weights than when the pair met over course and distance not long ago"

Plenty of exciting National Hunt action to have a go at today, but I've decided to target Wolverhampton's all-weather card for the placepot.

17:50 - Straboe deserves a lot of respect in the first, but the market has taken that into account and We'll Deal Again is a lot better off at the weights than when the pair met over course and distance not long ago, so the latter is preferred of the two. Also on side, though not easy to win with, is Riflessione, who's consistent and might get an uncontested lead.

18:20 - It's probably best to look for those with the solid form in leg two for all there a couple of potential improvers. Neytiri has made the frame on her last four starts and has the pick of the draw, while a reproduction of Lady Elice's run at Kempton a couple of starts back would see her go very close.

18:50 - Jawaab showed himself better than ever when winning at Southwell back in December, but it's a bit of a worry that he was given a break immediately after, so Pelham Crescent and Broad Meaning appeal as more solid options, the former back at a course where he has a good record.

19:20 - Indochina and Gottany O's dominate the betting in the maiden, but the latter definitely appeals as the one to bank on, given he's got a fitness edge and is bound to be suited by another step up in trip.

19:50 - Banking on Erinjay is another risk in the seller given there's only four runners, but it's very difficult to see him getting beaten tonight. Michael Wigham's five-year-old is unbeaten in plating company and his beating of I Confess at Wolverhampton last time has been franked by that one winning both his subsequent starts.

20:20 - Finally, Chocolate Caramel is worth a chance to back up his course-and-distance win seven days ago given how comfortable it was and Accompanist, who's got a good record at the track, announced his return to form when runner-up in January, so they're the two selections.

Selections - 16 lines

18:20 - 3, 9

Wincanton is the destination of our Placepot advice today, with Timeform's Phil Thompson making the selections...

After the massive Jackpot was won at Exeter yesterday, today's placepot might seem like it's not even worth winning, but Timeform's Adam Brookes nonetheless brings you a suggested perm for the card at Lingfield....
