"The appointment of Eddie Howe as manager looks inspired as he has guided them to six wins and two draws in nine league games."

Burnley have emerged from the pack as serious play-off contenders says Andrew French, and he believes Eddie Howe's men can win again this weekend as part of his three best wagers.

Burnley v Millwall

The Championship's most in-form team, at home to a side without an away win in nine attempts. And you're prepared to give me even money on a home win? Yes please! Every season almost, a team comes out of the pack to snatch a promotion or play-off place, and Burnley would be my idea of that team this season. The appointment of Eddie Howe as manager looks inspired as he has guided them to six wins and two draws in nine league games. They are currently unbeaten in six - five of which have been wins - a sequence made even more impressive when you consider four of those games have been away from home. Millwall may have beaten leaders QPR in midweek, but that was at The Den. They struggle on the road, and you have to go back to mid-November for their last away success. They have yet to win when visiting a top-half side - I can't see them getting any points from this one.

Scunthorpe v Leicester

Scunthorpe had to sort their home form out. Any team that cannot win on its own turf is heading for the drop, and the Iron won just once in their first 13 league games at Glanford Park. However, three wins and a draw later and they are suddenly enjoying life in front of their own fans. Good job too: they have been dreadful in away games (nine straight defeats). And with trips to the likes of Forest and Norwich to come, home will have to continue to be where the heart is. So, they'll want at least a point from this weekend's game with Leicester - on the surface, that looks a tall order given the Foxes have been flying. But the 'have been' is the key there: they are without a win in four and have not kept a clean sheet in five games. Also, Leicester's away form is far from impressive either: only two sides (and one of them is woeful travellers Scunny!) have lost more than the 11 games they have on the road. The Foxes have also failed to win on six of the nine occasions they have visited bottom-half sides.

Lay Leicester at [1.9]

Coventry v Hull

When Coventry sat in fifth place, 20 games into the season, few of their fans would ever have imagined they'd be heading into the last quarter of the campaign looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone. Yet a run of just one win in 15 games has sent them plummeting to 18th in the table. They have lost five of their last six games at the Ricoh Arena, and have not kept a clean sheet in eight attempts. Their home record against top-half teams is particularly poor: six defeats in eight games. That will leave them susceptible to another home reverse when Hull visit, as the Tigers are currently the division's best travellers - unbeaten in their last 13 on the road which includes a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest last weekend, ending Forest's long unbeaten home run. Hull have won half their games away to bottom-half sides, and have averaged virtually two goals a game when visiting struggling sides.
