FTM are backing two at Lingfield today

FTM are backing two at Lingfield today

"At Lingfield in the 17:00 Maiden Stakes (Class 5) over 1m, Haymarket has been supported in to [3.0] from [4.70]."

Today's Follow The Money movers come from the cards at Hereford and Lingfield.

At Lingfield, in the 15:00 Selling Stakes (Class 6) over 6f, Majestic Rose has been backed in to [4.2] from [7.6]. The three-year-old filly's recent form hasn't been too good , finishing fifth from nine at Wolverhampton last time out and last at Kempton. The major edge she has today is that this race represents a drop in class and is a relatively weak seller. In her previous on race at Class 6 she won on her debut at Kempton so this may be a more realistic format for her to show her better form.

At Hereford in the 15:45 Handicap Hurdle over 2m 4f, Schism has drifted out to [3.60] from [2.85]. The four-year-old filly won last time out at Plumpton by four-and-a-half lengths and is ridden by multiple champion AP McCoy. However, she goes up 7lb for that win and it was a relative ordinary race. This is a stronger race and perhaps more importantly the ground is forecast good to soft, soft in places, the softer the ground the more she is likely to struggle.

Finally, at Lingfield in the 17:00 Maiden Stakes (Class 5) over 1m, Haymarket has been supported in to [3.0] from [4.70]. He hasn't won in three starts and this must have been a disappointment for the then trainer Mahmoud Al Zarooni as he was a six figure purchase. He's now trained by Mark Johnston and that may be regarded favourably as he has over a 20% strike rate at Lingfield. This is a weak race and the market suggests his main competitor is Prime Run.

Coup Royale will be looking to do the business at Kempton

"We finish at Kempton with the 16:45 two and half mile Handicap Chase with good support noted for Coup Royale for the Tizzards. He has been offered at [8.8] but now trades as favourite at [6.4]."

Today's Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Lingfield, Kempton and Newcastle.

We start with Lingfield and in the 13:35 1m5f handicap Jezza has been very easy to back. He's been matched for strong money at [1.8] but now trades at [2.50] with the signs last time out suggesting the handicapper has finally caught up with him. Prior to his last run he had racked up a streak of three wins. He did however disappoint at very short odds-on last time, just losing out by a nose. The trainer Victor Dartnell has decided to drop him in trip after that and tries a furlong shorter than the trip he has been winning well in. He hasn't really shaped like a drop that far back will suit and at a course where a lot of horses get going all too late, he could well find it a difficult task.

Up to Newcastle now where in the testing ground Yurok has been supported in the 14:45 Novice Hurdle down to [1.91] from a high of [2.66]. Sue Smith's gelding is a half brother to the brilliant Brave Inca and has shown a fair standard of ability himself on his first two starts over timber. That level of form, given the heavy ground, looks clear of everything else in the field and the weight of support appears to back that up.

We finish at Kempton with the 16:45 two and half mile Handicap Chase with good support noted for Coup Royale for the Tizzards. He has been offered at [8.8] but now trades as favourite at [6.4]. Reportedly a very good looking horse, he has always been seen as a chaser by his trainer. He has had two starts so far and has looked a real natural, travelling powerfully both times. However, his first chase start saw him fold tamely over three miles at today's course and then subsequently he struggled at Newbury, where he again looked a decent horse but simply could not get involved. It's thought he struggled with his breathing so he has been given a break and the tongue tie is now on. He is certainly handicapped to win a good race and today looks the perfect opportunity.
