In the midst of the US Federal government attacking online poker, one US state is moving forward to legalizing it. Nevada's State Assembly has passed a bill to develop an online poker licensing process. This would mean that one day an online poker room just for Nevada players could be live, with poker players in the state able to log on and play in a 100 percent legal environment. The bill was passed unanimously and now needs to pass the State Senate to be turned into a law.

For the first time ever Nevada gambling regulators have approved a relationship between a live casino and an online casino. Caesars Entertainment Corp. and 888 Holdings PLC have entered into a partnership with the approval of the Gaming Control Board. This agreement allows for Caesar to participate in online gaming, and presumably online poker, in Europe. While this is not the same as giving poker players a chance to play in a legal US based poker room online, it is moving things one step closer to that reality.
