Last time he ran at Kempton, Avonbridge (14:50 Kempton) didn't adopt the positive tactics which served him so well when making all at Wolverhampton in February. But a return to front running could pay dividends this afternoon as there's a good chance he'll be able to dominate from stall one. The unexposed Black Cadillac is bound to be popular but has a wide draw/shorter trip to cope with and Avonbridge looks to represent a bit of value against him.
Mark Johnston could hardly have his team in better order at present so it looks worth taking a chance on Crown Counsel (16:50 Kempton) bouncing back to form after a break. He's certainly well treated if he does, having run well in competitive handicaps off marks in the low 90s, while a low draw is ideal for one who usually races handily.
