WPT Player Wins WSOP Event

site of the 2011 WSOP

The 2010 World Poker Tour player of the year has won a 2011 WSOP event. Andy Frankenberger has won his first WSOP event on Sunday. The World Series of Poker bracelet came to him in one of the $1,500 no-limit hold’em events. He had to outlast 2,500 players, and by doing so won $599,153, making this the first big win for the player this year. The number of players in this event shows that while many thought the online poker war in the US would dampen attendance, instead players are coming on strong for the WSOP.
