The WPT Southern Poker Championship has a new champion. The winner was Russian poker pro Alexander Kuzmin. He beat a field of 214 poker players to win the poker game, picking up a first place prize of $601,469. His victory came after five days of play at the Casino Beau Rivage in Biloxi. The total prize pool was $2,011,600. In the end Kuzmin moved all in with a failry week hand, but his heads up opponent didn’t have much choice but to come behind with an even weaker hand. Kuzmin won the hand and the title.
